About Your Therapist
Hi, I’m Janelle (she/her) and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist #145514, specializing in working as a Trauma Therapist.
Additionally, I am a fellow trauma survivor and hold a profound appreciation for therapy. As a result of the life-changing benefits I've experienced through my own journey, I am committed and passionate about helping other survivors heal from trauma and adverse life experiences.
The healing journey from trauma is often full of much unlearning and relearning. While this process can be hard, it is also frequently full of endless possibilities for growth and newfound depths of knowing self.
In Our Sessions
Throughout your therapy treatment, we will move at a pace and in a direction that feels right for you. I'll support you through life's highs and lows with empathy and a non-judgemental presence. Whether you're seeking practical solutions, a profound healing experience, or a listening ear, I'm here to provide a safe space for you.
Furthermore, in our sessions together I hope to help you reconnect with your inner wisdom and intuition. Humans are incredible, and I genuinely believe we all have the capacity to be our own healers and guides. I believe lasting change happens when we align all the inner parts of ourselves, even the scary and hard-to-love parts, and come home to our true and wonderful selves.
So, whether you're navigating through difficult times or expanding into a more free version of yourself, I'll be here to walk alongside you every step of the way.
Outside of Sessions
From an intersectionality lens, I'm half Hispanic, bi/queer, and neurodivergent. I frequently listen to Taylor Swift, Xana, and Fletcher, and I love watching a new anime show. I'm a huge fan of outdoor adventuring and going on any hike with my spouse that leads to a stunning waterfall. Additionally, I love discovering all the parts of myself and continuing to deepen my trust in myself. Storytelling is one of my favorite things, and I often have a solid 5-7 books I'm in the middle of reading. Someday, I hope to author one of my own. I enjoy writing poetry, paddleboarding, running, expanding my self-care practice, and enjoying some dark humor. Lastly, I see my fantastic therapist for regular therapy sessions of my own, as I love getting to continue to grow and come home to the most authentic version of myself.
Thanks for learning a bit more about me. I look forward to connecting with you and holding space for your story!
